Blindfold Games

Have you ever played a game called blindfold ball game before? Well room 8 literacy class played a game called blindfold ball game. We all had to get into a large circle and had to wait for our teacher to pick five of us so that we could get straight into it. When we were about to start the game our teacher Miss Lavakula asked the five people what colour ball you’re going to go for.

When we finally started the game the five people were bumping into each other and taking the wrong coloured ball. My friend Machelle was taking mostly all the different coloured balls, so when it was the second round our teacher said if we take the wrong coloured balls you will be disqualified from the game.

My favourite part was when Machelle got other four people's ball and when she poked her eye out to see if the game was finished. Then when it was the second round Machelle, Angels and I were screaming to daniella yes no and go forward, left, and right, we all laughed because other people were looking at us screaming at her.

My second favourite part was when I bumped into someone that was in front of me. Then I tried to go around him but I couldn’t  because he kept on moving back and because another person was beside me and behind me. So I laughed and sat down and swung my hands around and around so that I could see were I was going.

We were using a lot of equipment that we used like, Plastic coloured balls and blindfolds. It was so cool that other people were laughing and screaming. I think every one loved it specially me.

2/3 of 18=12
also
2/5 of 20= 8
and also
3/4 of 40=30

Fraction Problems

WALT:Solve fraction facts using my knowledge of my timetables.
Today the exponents learned one third walk to school and the rest bike. how many walk:
42because
3x14=42 and 3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3=42

Fraction Problems

WALT:Solve fraction problems using my knowledge of my timetables or divided by's.

We are learning more about 2/3 and 2/5 like
2/3 of 60=40
and also
2/5 of 100=40

Fraction Prblems

WALT:Solve fraction facts using my knowledge of my timetables.

Today the exponents learn't more about our timetables like:
3x14=42 and 14+14+14=42
also I have another answer
5x11=55 and 11+11+11+11+11=55

Finders Keepers

WALT:Infer and interpret the hidden message in the story.

Today the buzzy bees learned a good lesson form this book called Finder Keepers and the lesson was about if you find something you should give it to someone so that they can find the owner. Because it might be special to someone in there family.

Nobody laughed

WALT:Infer and interpret the hidden message in the story.

Aiden felt excited about going back to school because he had a new bag and he was kicking the stones and whistling to himself. Then kane his friend were to busy talking they didn’t notice the entire class had the same bag. Then later on the classes bags were on the ground in a pile so all the bags got mixed up, There were a lot of shouting when the class got back from their run. They were saying
Put that down it’s mine,  give it here, let it go and this is mine not yours.

I think aiden had his diary book in his bag.

Eating Worms

WALT:I am thinking about my purpose and reader by planning my.
Have you ever made worms before in class? Today in class with Mrs Garden, we made chicken  flavoured worms (really noodles). We all got into a circle then two people had to open one pack of worms and put them into the bowl.

How we made it? All you need is two bowls and two packets of worms so that you can put the worms into the bowl. Then we passed it to the next person over to us so that he or she could break the worms up so that you could get ready to eat it.

It was weird when we ate it. Our teacher feed it to us with tongs like we were little birds. We had to open our mouths big so that our teacher could put the worms in our mouths. It was funny when we ate like that, because the worms were dripping down our faces it felt like little worms crawling down our faces. It was so Yummy!!!

I think noodles are delicious also they look like worms. I think you should eat noodles more often than worms.

Exponents Followup 1

WALT:Solve fraction facts using my knowledge of my timetables
One thing that I learnt from this strategy was that:
1/3 of 21=7 because
3 x 7=21
7+7=14
14+7=21

Also my other strategy was:
7x2=14
7+7=14                   2+2+2+2+2+2+2=14

Exponents Followup 2

WALT:Use two strategies to solve number problems.

One thing I learnt from this strategy was that 27+47=74 because
27+23=50
50+10=60
60+10=70
70+4=74

Also my other strategy is
584+261=845
584+160=690
690+100=790
790+55=845

Exponents Followup 1

WALT:Use two strategies to solve number problems.

Today the exponents learnt how to do higher number like this:
56+67+33=156 because 33+23=56
 33+23=56
56+11=67
67+56=123
123+33=156

Cross Country

Walt:write a poem using nouns, verbs and adjectives
Cross Country
cold, windy
difficult,muddy, painful
long

Two Thirds

WALT:Solve fraction problems using my knowledge of my timetables or divided by's.

Today the exponents learn't about fractions. Fractions sometimes can be hard. I learn't that you should always learn 1/3 before 2/3.

Word Knowledge 2

Today the buzzy bees got to do a word knowledge and your words were broad, compost, and applause, and the word compost means rich soil dirt made from worms and dead leaves.

Thursday, 3 September 2015

Exponents Followup

WALT:Use more than one strategy to solve number problems.

Today the exponents learnt different strategy's like reversibility, Place values, Tidy number and equal addition. Here are some of my problems I did: 93-38=55 because
93-3=90
90-30=60
60-5=55, So that's how I got my answer.

Fraction Facts

WALT:solve basic fraction problems using my knowledge of timetables
Today the Exponents learned more about fractions here are some of the problems:
1/4 of 24 =16 because 4x6=24 and 1/4 of 32 = 8 because 4x8=32.

Exponents Followup 3

WALT:Solve fraction facts using my knowledge of my timetables.

Today the Exponents different ways to solve word problems and number problems: 1/4 of 24= 6
because 4x6=24

Advice column for grasshopper

WALT:Infer and interpret the main ideas in the story.

Today the buzzy bees read a story called Ants and Grasshopper it tough us a very good lesson that you should always get ready for anything that's coming up.
