Ambassador Aplication

Myztique Ambassador from Team 4 Pes on Vimeo.
Talofa lava my name is Myztique and I am 9 years old. I would like to be a year six ambassador for 2016. I think that I would be the best person for the job because I am confident, honest and I like to share my stories with our visitors that come to our school to see our learning.

I always come to school to learn and finish off my activities from our blog log that our teachers created to put our writing, reading activities and math follow ups.  I also have one little sister Leigharna, She’s six and one older brother, Kayden is 14 years old.

This year I have learned about native animals. For an example a Kiwi. Kiwis are native in New Zealand and its habitat is in the native forest in New Zealand, kiwis are the only native birds that have nostrils at the end of its beak. Kiwis use their beaks to smell the food they're trying to find and they also use it to smell were there going.

Being an ambassador means a lot to me because I like to show visitors my work. I would love to make my school proud and also my whanau proud too.

Eating competition

Introduction.
Have you ever done a eating competition before? This morning we had a eating competition it was so fun. We did it outside our classroom, there were a lot of screaming and laughing.

How to play.
Here are things you need to use to play this game. You need two tables, a bucket of apples, plastic plates and some food. First of all you need to grab a buddy and go outside to get ready to play, the food that we used were apples and whipped cream on weetbix cut up into pieces.

Funniest part.
My funniest part was when I was shoving the weetbox into my partner’s face it was so funny she started laughing then she dribbled on my hand. When I went to go feed her the apple my partner took little bites of it. The other two people next to us were going hard out we both started laughing.

Favourite part.
My favourite part was when we all had whipped cream on our faces it was cold. when it was my turn, as soon as we all got up on the table with our plated in front of us we started eating as soon as our teacher said go. When she said go My partner behind me grabbed the weetbix and shoved straight into my mouth I had to chew it so fast so that we could eat our apple then we would of finished first but I took my time eating the apple so unfortunately we didn’t come first.

Conclusion.
I felt excited when our teacher said we were going to do a eating competition but then when it was my turn i felt really nervous about eating the cream on weetbix and eating a whole apple. It was so hard to compete with people from our literacy class. I was pleased that we got to play a game instead of thinking of an game that we can’t right about because the game was hard to remember about  or because it was so much fun we didn’t want to remember about it.

Holiday Writing

Have you ever been to Riverside camp at a Willow park before?
On the first week of the holidays I went to riverside camp at willow park with some children from Pt England school. When we got there - we had to take our bags into the dining room and then go into the rimu to see what groups we were in. The names of the girls groups were Mufasa, Pumbas, C.o.g and Flavaz, and the names of the boys groups were R4b, Bwa, Simbarrians and

Mr Burt told us that we were going to play some wet games “outside”. When we went outside we  sat down on the grass and looked to see what activity we were doing. so we got into groups with the boys. There were only two activities to do. so we started playing one of the games.gv The other groups were playing rob the nest. In our games we had to try find the balls in foam it was so hard because the foam was up to our necks we had to tippy toes to walk through and see where we  going and go underneath the foam to grab the plastic coloured balls.

On wednesday we had a disco but we only had it till  ten O'clock and we started at nine thirty. When we started the disco the leaders told everyone to get into a big circle then one of the leaders called out names to got in the circle and dance then come out when she calls another name. Then someone called my name but I got shy I went away  then someone pushed me into the circle and said dance but I just stood there waiting until that game was over. When the game finished we all could go away and dance we danced to four songs they were watch me whip, All abou that bass, uptown funk and omi cheerleader.

What I loved about camp was our concert night. The concert was on thursday it was so fun my friend machelle put two dollars into my t-shirt but they were fake money, and they were cash two dollars. Mele lavaka one of the leaders screamed out to me saying go myztique go myztique. I hope that we do camp again next time.

Word Problems

WALT: learn our 6s, 7s and 8s timetables to help us solve harder word number problems.Oct 16, 2015 12:10:20 PM.jpg
Today the exponents did a follow up called word problems. My answer for the first one was 72 because
10 x 4 = 40
4 x 8 = 32
if I add them all together It makes 72.
also for my second one my answer was 150 because
6 x 10 = 60
4 x 8 = 32
40 + 32 = 72
if I add 72 and 78 together then it makes 150
so thats how I got all my answers.

Blindfold Games

Have you ever played a game called blindfold ball game before? Well room 8 literacy class played a game called blindfold ball game. We all had to get into a large circle and had to wait for our teacher to pick five of us so that we could get straight into it. When we were about to start the game our teacher Miss Lavakula asked the five people what colour ball you’re going to go for.

When we finally started the game the five people were bumping into each other and taking the wrong coloured ball. My friend Machelle was taking mostly all the different coloured balls, so when it was the second round our teacher said if we take the wrong coloured balls you will be disqualified from the game.

My favourite part was when Machelle got other four people's ball and when she poked her eye out to see if the game was finished. Then when it was the second round Machelle, Angels and I were screaming to daniella yes no and go forward, left, and right, we all laughed because other people were looking at us screaming at her.

My second favourite part was when I bumped into someone that was in front of me. Then I tried to go around him but I couldn’t  because he kept on moving back and because another person was beside me and behind me. So I laughed and sat down and swung my hands around and around so that I could see were I was going.

We were using a lot of equipment that we used like, Plastic coloured balls and blindfolds. It was so cool that other people were laughing and screaming. I think every one loved it specially me.

Then kane his friend were to busy talking they didn’t notice the entire class had the same bag. Eating Worms

WALT:I am thinking about my purpose and reader by planning my.
Have you ever made worms before in class? Today in class with Mrs Garden, we made chicken  flavoured worms (really noodles). We all got into a circle then two people had to open one pack of worms and put them into the bowl.

How we made it? All you need is two bowls and two packets of worms so that you can put the worms into the bowl. Then we passed it to the next person over to us so that he or she could break the worms up so that you could get ready to eat it.

It was weird when we ate it. Our teacher feed it to us with tongs like we were little birds. We had to open our mouths big so that our teacher could put the worms in our mouths. It was funny when we ate like that, because the worms were dripping down our faces it felt like little worms crawling down our faces. It was so Yummy!!!

I think noodles are delicious also they look like worms. I think you should eat noodles more often than worms.

WALT:Solve fraction facts using my knowledge of my timetables
One thing that I learnt from this strategy was that:
1/3 of 21=7 because
3 x 7=21
7+7=14
14+7=21

Also my other strategy was:
7x2=14
7+7=14                   2+2+2+2+2+2+2=14

Exponents Followup 2

WALT:Use two strategies to solve number problems.

One thing I learnt from this strategy was that 27+47=74 because
27+23=50
50+10=60
60+10=70
70+4=74

Also my other strategy is
584+261=845
584+160=690
690+100=790
790+55=845

Exponents Followup 1

WALT:Use two strategies to solve number problems.

Today the exponents learnt how to do higher number like this:
56+67+33=156 because 33+23=56
